The altered Start menu, Xbox apps, Photos, Maps and Settings, along with Cortana, has pleased many who were hoping for much from the latest version of the Windows operating system.įor people who wish to give the latest Windows 10 build a try, it is far better to use a virtual machine to install the newest build than to replace your existing Windows version with what is a beta version of the latest operating system from Microsoft. I've been at my wits end for hours.Microsoft have impressed many with latest 9926 build of Windows 10. I was using 6.1.4 beforehand and tried everything listed above before repeating it after updating to 6.1.6. I get large windows in the 800 x 600 display that takes up the majority of the screen that I can't shrink, and I never had issue with this beforehand since I'd be in fullscreen resolution. Nothing seems to work, and it's frustrating. I've tried upping my VRAM from 16MB to the max 128MB, Changed from VBoxVGA to VBoxSVGA, reinstalled the Guest Additions multiple times, and even went so far as to not only try recreating the VM, but also try it under both the 32 and 64 bit options given. I'd install the Guest Additions, but it wouldn't go full screen upon restarting, and upping the resolution just has the OS stay in the confined square screen but with scroll bars which is annoying and that's IF I manage to get past 800 x 600 resolution. However, as of late, I've been having issues getting this full screen resolution, despite following the tutorial as I've usually done. He would talk about The Guest Additions and how to install them, and each time I've installed them it would automatically fit the full screen without issue upon restarting the Guest OS. On previous installations, I would simply use SaltyPeanut's tutorial, and would go about the steps instructed there without any issue, and there's still none with the general installation process. Hi, I am using Virtual Box 6.1.6, and am running a Windows XP Professional 32-bit guest OS on a Windows 10 host.
